Keeping the golden age of gaming alive in Melbourne
RetroBattleWorks began in 2016 when three collectors dragged a Sega Rally cabinet up the stairs of a former Fitzroy printworks. Today our palm-lined floor houses fully restored cabinets from 1978 to 1999, a couch-co-op lounge and a repair bench where we bring dead hardware back to life. Every screen is calibrated, every joystick re-gated, and every visit is a little slice of arcade paradise.

Unlimited free play across all 38 restored cabinets and the console lounge, valid open to close. Includes one tropical mocktail from the bar. Open Mon–Thu 12pm–11pm, Fri–Sat 12pm–1am, Sun 12pm–10pm.
A curtained palm-fringed booth for up to six players with your choice of console setup, from N64 four-player Mario Kart to a CRT fighting station. Includes a snack platter and priority bar service; extra hours are $25 each.
Weekly bracketed tournaments rotating through Street Fighter II, Tekken 3 and Mario Kart 64, kicking off at 7:30pm every Friday. Winner takes the cabinet-shaped trophy and a month of free floor passes. Registration closes at 7pm.
